A big
“howdy” from Texas! Wanda
and I traveled to the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the Region 8 Round-up! The gathering was held just a few miles away from the airport
just between Gaylord Texas and the Grapevine Outlet Mall (the biggest in
Texas). This simply meant
that we had to squeeze in some tourist time in between all the normal
activities of the gathering. The Gaylord Texas Resort is owned by the same folks as the
Opryland Hotel in Nashville only on a smaller scale. Still a great place to visit.
This was my first trip to a Southern Gathering and I didn’t know
what to expect but it turned out great. My estimate is that there were about 250-300 participants over
the weekend. We met some great folks from the Rockford club so I send a
big HELLO out to them. They
are quite a group!
