NCC Nomination for the office of Vice President

Kirk Wyllie, Ducky 56ers collectors club
• Dedicated collector
• Display artist
• Gathering participant and active presenter
• Experienced administrator and manager
• Eager to work with the NCC for its members
It is our pleasure and honor to nominate one of our most active members,
Kirk Wyllie, for the office of Vice President of the National Council of
Clubs (NCC). Kirk has been involved in collecting and displaying since
the late 1990s and would be a genuine contributor to the NCC.
Creativity is very prevalent in the way Kirk puts his background in
architecture to use in the display of Department 56 villages. He has
done wonders with the extensive Dickens’ Village display at the home of
his parents as well as the wide variety of villages at his own home
which include the Little Town of Bethlehem (in memory of his brother),
seasonal displays for Easter and Valentine’s Day, and displays with a
Chicago theme. For about five years, he was the designer for the
displays at a local store, Just Ducky. For those displays, he was able
to incorporate every current building and accessory for buyers to see.
He also developed unique display techniques involving Great Stuff foam
as well as mountains to hide electrical systems.
Some of his displays have been seen at Gatherings where he won prizes;
Green Bay, Chicago and Minnesota to mention a few. Fortunately for
collectors, he has been very willing to share his techniques through
display classes. Kirk has been giving active presentations for about
seven years and has done seminars at gatherings in Chicago as well as
California. Locally he has done work for various clubs including the
Ducky 56ers, the Windy City 56ers, and the Wacky Willagers. Kirk has
also done display classes at local stores such as Just Ducky, European
Imports, and Suzie’s Hallmark.
Kirk has an outgoing personality and has put his talents to use as the
emcee at both of the Chicago Gatherings as well as the 2002 gathering,
the Little Houses on the Prairie. In these situations, he did a great
job in getting the crowd involved and excited. Along with his mother, he
has also been seen selling 50/50 raffle tickets at gatherings. The “lad
with the hat” has been very active volunteering at gatherings and
certainly shows his dedication to the spirit of the NCC.
From a more administrative standpoint, Kirk has applied his
organizational skills to assist the Ducky 56ers as well as the Windy
City 56ers. He has been the President as well as Vice President of the
Windy City 56ers and is currently the Ducky 56ers representative to
their sponsor, European Imports. With regard to gatherings, he was at
the forefront for the 2004 Chicago Gathering and was co-chair for the
2006 Chicago Gathering. Kirk is good at working with people in order to
get the best job completed. As a project manager in the construction
field, he is called on to problem solve and has become very proficient
in melding facts and opinions to produce the best outcome.
Kirk would be an excellent addition to the executive branch of the NCC
due to his organizational skills, communication, follow-through, and,
above all, the overall excitement of collecting and displaying the
Department 56 villages. He would work well with the President for the
welfare of the NCC and its members.
