LETTER OF ENDORSEMENT
To Whom It May Concern:
I wholeheartedly recommend Mike Goode for Vice President of the National
Council of Clubs. Having seen him performing numerous jobs in the
Cowtown Villagers Collectors Club, I know him to be skilled in several
areas. He served as president, vice- president, and secretary of the
local club in Fort Worth, Texas. He is an outstanding leader, organizer,
and over-all guide to getting things done in the club.
I know Mike and his work in a different area also. Since I was also a
central office administrator and an elementary principal in the Texas
Public Schools, I can attest to Mike’s work in these areas. Mike used
many skills as a principal that he uses as a leader in our club, and
will also use as the VP of NCC. As a principal, he was involved in a
multitude of administrative, long-term planning, and personnel tasks,
just to mention a few duties of a principal. He had to juggle many
“balls” at once on a daily basis: work with the maintenance people, keep
the teachers happy and performing, deal with the “good, the bad, and the
beautiful” children of the school, and meet with angry, happy, and all
other kinds of parents. He planned and directed in-service programs to
train teachers every year. He knows how to motivate people to do their
jobs. His leadership skills have been evident in all areas of his public
school work.
He knows and uses successful “people” skills when working with all kinds
and ages of people. These skills he learned and polished when he headed
the Human Resource Department in a large Texas school district. He
traveled the country to recruit teachers for that district. This takes
time and talent to build a strong teacher cadre to educate the students.
He has continued to use his administrative skills in retirement since he
still supervises and directs young teachers as they make the transition
from college student to teacher in the classroom. He has put all these
skills to work in other areas besides education; he has worked in the
hotel industry, using the same people skills he used in the school
world.
Mike Goode, a mature, experienced leader, will make an outstanding
officer in the National Council of Clubs. Talented in many areas, Mike
will be a VP who will make a huge contribution to the collectors’ clubs
with whom he works. Since he has attended several national gatherings,
he already knows the organization, many people from numerous states, and
is known by others in leadership roles.
I am pleased to endorse Mike Goode for NCC Vice-President.
