Collector
Mike has been an enthusiastic and creative collector since 1984.
NCC/Department 56 Involvement
• Member of Ft. Worth’s Cowtown Villagers and Hurst’s The Nifty 56ers
• President and Vice President of Cowtown Villagers
• Vice President and Secretary of Nifty 56ers.
• The office of vice president in both clubs required program planning
for a total of 4
years
• Planned programs for combined club trips for out-of-state Christmas
shopping,
designing lighted houses, and greeting incoming troops from Iraq and
Afghanistan.
• Currently organizes the Holiday Tour of Homes for both clubs.
• Attended every Texas and Region 8 Roundup since 1996
• Conducts creative seminars at the Region 8 Roundup.
• Attended most nationwide gatherings since 2000
• Served on the planning committees for the 2005, 2007, and 2009 Region
8 Roundups
Awards and Honors
Mike and his wife Trisha have twice been featured in the Village
D-Lights Magazine.
In 2006 they won the Department 56 Holiday Tour Grand Prize to Eden
Prairie,
Minnesota.
Personal
Retired educator: teacher, district curriculum coordinator for over 300
classroom teachers, elementary school principal, and human resources director
Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year (both in 2 separate
school districts)
